RECUENTO / RECOUNT

Admito que he estado bastante deprimida.

*************

Well, I think I’ve made it clear that I’m not too good at keeping this updated. These last months have been pretty chaotic and very screwed.

In February I was offered a position in one of three major Financial Analysis companies (I won’t name them to avoid trouble). I was offered great wages, pension plan, health insurance and life insurance. Of course, I handed in my resignation at my old job and went running over to start. Everything was wonderful, great co-workers, great wages; the area (Fernando VI) was gorgeous. I started looking for a new and better apartment, paying of debts, etc. After a month I had a meeting with my boss, who told that everything was going great, everybody was happy with me, only that I had to dress up a little more and wear make-up. OK, no problem, done and done.

A month later I called in sick with a throat infection. While I was on sick leave they called me, to tell me my trial period was up, and that they had decided to let me go, as some people didn’t like me and that they felt I didn’t fit in… You can imagine my surprise, when my boss had said only a month before that everything was wonderful.

Her excuse: Nobody tells me anything!

I admit I’ve been pretty depressed. The fact that I was fired because they “didn’t like me” no matter if I did my job well or not, well it hasn’t exactly made me happy.

But that’s not all. I went to the Unemployment office and they told that since I left my previous job voluntarily less than three months ago and I was fired during my trail period, my request for unemployment payment was rejected.

8 years paying taxes and that’s the help I get!

The truth is, if I hadn’t had the support of friends, family and the Gentle Giant, I World have had a fit. But anyhow, a great friend of mine got me a job at her mom’s office, so at least I’m working.

The pay is much lower and now I’m looking for a CHEAPER apartment.

Isn’t it funny how your life can change in just a few months?
