Things have been crazy lately. I did another year of school, which was so time-consuming that I couldn’t seem to find time to write here. It was an interesting year. I learnt how much your studies could be affected by a bad teacher, and the frustration you get from feeling that you aren’t learning because they can’t be bothered to teach. I learnt how good it felt to have great class mates and how to ignore the not-so-great ones.

Also I learnt how expensive it is to study. I lost my job in December due to a completely useless and mean minded boss, and not long later my unemployment pay finished, so I’m basically living day to day with what I can get teaching English through skype, and the help I get from my family. It’s so bad that I’m not sure if I’ll be able to go back to school. At first it was because I decided to stop looking for jobs in the evening and look for full time ones, but since I haven’t got a single reply, now I realize I won’t be able to afford transport and material costs this year. I started a GoFundMe campaign, but I’m not sure how well it will work. So I’ve been a little bit depressed.

I also had some health stuff lately. First I was tested for thyroid problems because of my weight gain, but fortunately everything was negative, so now I’m on a diet, which is actually being fun, since I’m trying all kinds of new recipes. Then I had shingles which led to bronchitis, which made me realize how much medication prices have gone up in Spain. The little money I had saved up disappeared in seconds.

The good news is that I have moved out of my infernal apartment and now I’m living in a bigger, sunnier, nicer, and cheaper one, so not only am I happier, my expenses have gone down.

Soon I’ll be sharing my culinary adventures and my experience with GoFundMe.

See you soon!
